About Hyper SoCal
Hyper SoCal is an initiative aimed at celebrating the artistic talent of the Southern California region. On view at institutions throughout the region, Hyper SoCal is staged at contemporary art venues which are mission-based and/or municipally run spaces. These institutions occupy a key element of the Los Angeles art landscape, often showcasing work which would otherwise be unsuitable for commercial spaces or more visible spaces such as large museums.

Originated at Brand Library & Art Center, which features a gallery space connected to a library focused on art and music collections, this initiative seeks to create awareness for SoCal artists and the mission-based and municipal art venues that support their practices. Hyper SoCal celebrates the artist community in Southern California which continues to thrive and build on the vibrant histories and movements which were founded in the region.
